I love Massada Eyewear

I came across Massada on my Euro trip while travelling through Wroclaw, Poland and totally fell in love with this brand! Massada is Polish / English design duo Kasia Lupinska and Sebastian Wood and I think they have done a fine job at refreshing some beautiful retro designs. Their sunglasses range are all handmade from italian materials with prices ranging from €120 EUR and in a short time have graced the editorial pages of Glamour, Fashion Gone Rogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Viva Moda magazine.

Loving crystal frames for Summer

Crystal Big American Cat with Grey Graded lenses, €245 EUR

I love it when brands showcase their products with such beautiful art direction. Above is a photo from their recent campaign shot in the “Wabi-Sabi” aesthetic by Japanese photographer Yosuke Demukai who currently lives in Berlin. He says – “Wabi-Sabi” simply is the Japanese art of finding beauty within imperfectness and ephemerality. Models are fragile in their beauty and their youngish looks like bloosoming flowers during Sakura season. It creates powerful contrast with eternity of time passing by within wood, sand, grass, forests and fabric.

Crystal frames give this retro style a fresh chic edge

Sleeper Crystal with Grey Graded Lenses, €210 EUR

I’m loving these 70’s inspired John Lennon style pair! Bit wacky for everyday maybe, but I like playful styles for Summer festivals and days loitering at the beach.

Surely enough the same style graced the cover of Vogue back in the day. I guess the 70′s John Lennon style was just another classic comeback. This is why retro is so powerful! Good design always stands the test of time.

Tortoise shell classic elegance

Spanish Coffee Tokyo Tort grey Graded Lenses, €250 EUR

And above is the pair I bought, but there were so many more I loved!I These classic elegant tortoise shell frames fitted me perfectly. Tortoise shell was popular in the 70′s and I’m happy they are making a comeback! The haphazard mix of bronze and amber is stunning and it just goes well with everything.

Sunglasses rarely suit me so I believe here is no such thing as trends or classic style when it comes to frames. If a retro or ridiculous style suits you then wear it with no regrets regardless of what’s in fashion. It just needs to compliment the shape of your face. Massada have shops in major cities like Paris, Rome, Berlin, Tokyo and have an online shop which delivers worldwide for an extra €10 EUR.

Absolutely love this brand! It’s a pity they are not more widely available yet.

  2. Yeah that’s true! But if you ever in the major cities then it makes for great holiday shopping :)
